Social Proof
Social proof is evidence that other people value and trust your product, used to reduce a prospect’s perceived risk. It includes testimonials, reviews, case studies, customer logos, user counts, and ratings. The principle: people look to others’ behavior to guide their own decisions.
Why it matters for developers
For unknown indie products, social proof is one of the most powerful trust-builders available. Even modest, honest proof — a few real testimonials or a genuine user count — can lift conversion meaningfully.
