The one landing page change that doubled my conversion rate
Issue #47 — 5 min read
Hey there,
Last week I ran an A/B test on a client's SaaS landing page. One change. That's it. Conversions went from 2.1% to 4.7%.
The change? I moved the CTA above the fold and rewrote it from "Get Started" to "Start My Free Trial — No Credit Card."
Here's why this works (and the psychology behind it):
1. Visibility bias: If they can't see it, they can't click it. 60% of visitors never scroll past the hero.
2. Friction reduction: "No credit card" removes the #1 objection before it forms in their mind.
3. Specificity: "Start My Free Trial" is about them. "Get Started" is about nothing.
Here's the template you can steal:
[Action Verb] + [Desired Outcome] + [Objection Killer]
Examples:
"Start My Free Trial — No Credit Card"
"Download the Guide — It's Free"
"Launch My Store — Setup Takes 5 Min"
Try this on your landing page this week. Reply and tell me your results.
