Conversion Rate
Conversion rate is the percentage of people who complete a desired action — such as signing up, starting a trial, or purchasing — out of the total number who had the opportunity. If 1,000 people visit a landing page and 30 sign up, the conversion rate is 3%.
Why it matters for developers
Conversion rate is the lever that makes every other marketing effort more profitable. Doubling your conversion rate doubles your results from the same traffic — which is why optimizing it is usually cheaper than buying more visitors.
