ConvertKit Free is the best free email tool for indie developers. The UI is clean, the API is documented, deliverability is solid, and upgrading to paid is a straight line with no migration required. Alternatives like Mailchimp have historically been hostile to small senders (suspending accounts for low engagement), and their free tier now has significant limitations.

PostHog is genuinely impressive for free. You get product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and A/B testing under one roof. The self-hosted option is also available if you want zero data limits. The catch: it’s more complex than you need if you just want to know “how many people visited my landing page this week.” For that question, Plausible or even a simple server log is faster to parse.

Resend is worth evaluating if you’re already sending transactional email and want to consolidate. Google Analytics 4 is not recommended for most indie developers.
